// hicksdesign :: about hicksdesign
Hicksdesign is a one-person design studio, started by Jon Hicks in 2002, after 8 years working as a designer with charities, government bodies and publishers. You won’t hear jargon or pretentious designer talk, I have built a reputation for being friendly and easy to work with.

Apache URL Rewriting Guide

Apache URL Rewriting Guide
This document supplements the original mod_rewrite reference documentation from the Apache Group which can be found on http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_rewrite.html. It describes how one can use Apache’s mod_rewrite to solve typical URL-based problems webmasters are usually confronted with in practice. I give detailed descriptions on how to solve each problem by configuring URL rewriting rulesets.

Lockergnome and ass… (well, not anymore…)

Well instead of sending a little note saying, “hey, do you by chance have an ad-blocker running?” and pointing out my mistake, Chris Pirillo made a (surprise!) sarcastic remark

I don’t even remember the last time I visited a site that looked like ass because I blocked the ads on their page. Oh Well.

For those of you who use Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, or any other browser you can use a custom stylesheet with, check out userContent.css if you want to take control of your browsing experience.

UPDATE: Chris Pirillo loves me! No — really. Oh, and he’s graciously corrected the ‘error’ on the lockergnome family of sites. Thanks, Chris!
