The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Ok Firefox.

URL not valid

Somehow you decided to disable keywords and it took me a few days to remember how to fix this.

No more. Never again. And for all the other folks this happens to, all you need to do is:

  1. Open about:config
  2. type ‘keyword’ in the search bar
  3. double click keyword.enabled so it reads true

Then rejoice as things work as expected again. If you’re looking for a great entry for keyword.URL, use YubNub - you’ll never look back.

  • Hello, my keyword was already set to true

  • WHB, Sorry if this didn’t work for you, but I’ve found consistently that I can trigger that dialog by turning it to false, then resolve the problem by switching it back to true.

  • i have the same issue as whb….keyword.enabled value is already at true…..it appears i have the whole “the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded” problem only when a new window or tab is opened but the site/page loads anyway.
